There are few emotions more powerful than hope. It’s a spark inside you that brings a smile to your lips, a light that shows on your face, a feeling that lifts your head and pulls you forward. Hope is what keeps us alive.
These days hope often feels hard to come by. But real hope is what the Christian faith claims to offer: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.
It sounds to good…..But is it true? Whatever you do or don’t believe this series is your opportunity to explore, to discuss, to question, to discover. This is Hope Explored.
We invite you to join with us on Sunday 8th, 15th and 22nd September at New Mossley Presbyterian Church to explore the person and the work of Jesus, and the hope that can be found in him.
We begin the evening at 5.30pm with a meal followed by film and discussion, and finishing at 8pm.
Just text Jayne on 07988783710 to register your interest.
What is Hope Explored?
Six hundred years before Jesus was born, a prophecy was made about him, that he would be called “Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. The gospel of Luke, which is an account of Jesus’s life, explains how these prophecies came true, and that this is great news for all people.
All over the world millions of people find hope and help in knowing Jesus Christ. Hope Explored is a three-session series about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus that examines his extraordinary claims. Through teaching from Rico Tice and studies from Luke’s Gospel, Hope Explored shows how Jesus offers us a hope worth having, a hope that won’t disappoint us.
The Bible study was excellent and covered so much – sin, the cross, judgement, grace and access to God.”
