Community Fridge
Our community fridge is open to anyone and everyone in our community. The aim of it, is to collect surplus produce from local supermarkets and make it available for our community. As this produce would otherwise be thrown out, it also reduces waste.
Our main focus is on supplying fresh food rather than tinned goods or non-perishables. However, there are occasions where we get a number of “non-fresh” items. Our Fridge is not means tested and therefore is available for anyone to use. We are very thankful to all those supermarkets who support us.
Community Hub
At the same time as our Fridge, we have our Hub in the Taggart Hall. This is a place for the community to come and meet with one another while enjoying a few treats and a hot drink. It is also a place where we will seek to offer help through local community services. Once a month there will be soup provided.
